Crowdfunding & Pledges Disclaimer

All the Rage allows creators to raise funds for projects ("Projects") and users to make pledges or back projects. Brand sponsors may also fund challenge prizes and campaigns. This document explains important limitations.
1. Not an investment
Pledges are not investments. You are not purchasing:
- Equity, shares, or ownership in a creator's business
- Debt instruments or interest-bearing loans
- Securities of any kind
- A guaranteed financial return
You should not expect profit** from a pledge. If a creator implies investment returns, report it immediately.
2. What you are funding
When you pledge or back a project, you typically receive:
- Rewards described on the project page (e.g., early access, digital downloads, physical goods, credits, experiences), or
- The satisfaction of supporting creative work, or
- In brand challenges, eligibility to win disclosed prizes
Delivery of rewards is the creator's (or brand's) responsibility, not All the Rage's guarantee, except where we explicitly act as seller of a specific reward item.
3. Risks
Creative projects may fail, delay, or change. You may lose your pledge if:
- The creator abandons the project
- Rewards cannot be produced as described
- The creator becomes unable to fulfill (illness, bankruptcy, force majeure)
Pledge at your own risk. Only pledge amounts you can afford to lose.
4. Platform role
All the Rage:
- Provides tools to present projects, collect pledges, and display progress
- May hold funds in escrow or process payments per disclosed flows
- Charges a platform fee on successful pledge collection as described in Marketplace Terms
- Does not endorse the feasibility, quality, or legality of every project
- May remove fraudulent projects and ban bad actors
We do not guarantee project completion.
5. Brand challenge prizes
For sponsor-run challenges with funded prizes:
- Brands may fund cash prizes and/or offer products as prizes
- Funded cash prizes are held in escrow until a winner is determined per challenge rules
- If no valid winner is selected per disclosed rules, prizes may be refunded to the brand minus disclosed fees
- Winners are typically selected by community voting or criteria stated on the challenge page
- Brands may require usage rights to feature winning entries in marketing — disclosed at entry
Entrants grant the usage rights described on the challenge page by participating.
6. Refunds on pledges
General rule: pledges are final once the funding period closes and funds are released to creators, except:
- Project is cancelled by creator before fulfillment and creator authorizes refunds
- Fraud or material misrepresentation is established
- Required by law
Partial refunds may be offered at creator discretion for delayed or modified rewards.
7. Taxes
Pledge amounts may be treated as income to creators and non-deductible expenses to backers for tax purposes (jurisdiction-dependent). Consult a tax professional.
8. Prohibited funding uses
Projects may not fundraise for:
- Illegal activity
- Weapons, drugs, or regulated goods without compliance
- Hate or violence promotion
- Unauthorized securities offerings
- Personal emergencies unrelated to creative work (unless using a clearly labeled personal support feature, if offered)
- Misleading or impossible claims
9. Securities law notice (US)
Structuring pledges to offer profit participation, revenue share, or equity-like returns may implicate federal and state securities laws. Creators must not use All the Rage funding tools for unregistered securities offerings.
We may remove projects that appear to offer investment contracts.
